January 10, 2026

In this workshop you will learn how to compose and create your own art quilt using clothing that has been important in your life: an old apron, a pair of jeans you can’t quite squeeze into, a well-worn baby dress, your mother’s favorite scarf, your boy’s favorite tie, your dog’s favorite bandana, your cashmere sweater with too many holes — anything goes. Take these garments out of the box and bring the memories alive by making your own fabric collage that will bring you joy every day.

Each class is limited to 8 people.

Date and Time: January 10, 2026 from 9am to 4:30pm
Location: Ali’s studio, at 3611 Mijos Ln, Chapel Hill, NC 27514

The workshop with Ali and Elaine was delightful. The sunny and well lit open space was perfect for learning a new technique, and the relaxing atmosphere and the small group environment allowed for a great learning experience. Ali and Elaine were very helpful throughout the day. I was very pleased with the process and the almost completed work which I took home with me with great pleasure. I have completed the project and look forward to getting the finished art framed. I would recommend this class to anyone wanting to learn a new technique in a fun and safe environment.

As we designed and developed our art quilts, Ali and Elaine were very helpful and encouraging. I enjoyed the process and learned so many new techniques. I am thrilled with my beach themed final project and plan to make another one.
